I've been seeing the incredible Dr. Scott Weiss and his Physical Therapy team for years. There is no one in the city as knowledgeable, caring and who actually takes the... read more time to rehab not just the physical traumas but the psychological ones post-injury as well. Scott has that passion for his job and for rehabilitation, constantly bringing in new techniques and new technologies he gleans from his work with the US Olympics team to aide in your recovery. He not only wants to fix the “What” that’s the problem, but works with his patients so they know “The Why” of their injury and can prevent it again. His office is always clean, conveniently located near Grand Central and his staff never makes you wait in the waiting room like most NYC doc offices. Over the years I’ve referred several friends to him and they’ve all had the same experience. I can’t recommend him, the team, the offices or the services any higher.
When your body hurts you want to select a provider that can heal you. That person is Dr. Scott Weiss. Dr. Weiss’ specialty is sports medicine. He has travelled the world... read more with USA Sports Medicine teams and has worked with Olympians and Paralympians. With an impressive background like that I chose Dr. Weiss as my physical therapist. He combines chiropractic. Chinese medicine, physical therapy and osteopathic medicine which has greatly helped me. When my knee surgeon recommended Scott, I was already going to him and knew I was in the best possible hands. I highly recommend Dr. Scott Weiss.
I came in with a running injury. Scott was great. Very thorough and patient, definitely knows what he is talking about. Obviously hoping not to get injured, but God forbid... read more something happens, I will come back to Bodhizone.
Extremely frustrated in the way that Bodhizone conducts their business and handles interactions with customers.
When I initially came to them confused regarding my health insurance benefits and the way they... read more were billing me, they acted very shady and refused to provide me hard and explicit facts, and instead just tried to reassure me they were doing things correctly.
I've also had appointments canceled on me several times, once while already getting to the office and sitting in the waiting room for over 30 minutes.
During that time, they lied to me about the reason they had to reschedule (I overheard them talking yet they decided to try and deceive me still). i agreed to reschedule to 6:30pm later that week, then on that day, they called me at 5:20pm asking where I was. I reminded them that we agreed my appointment time was actually 6:30, but they said they'd have to reschedule again to sometime next week because that appt time wasn't actually confirmed and the doctors wouldn't be available then.
Meanwhile, I'm still in pain and not receiving adequate enough service to merit this frustrating experience. I have only seen the physical therapist twice since starting therapy, and the rest of the times have been seen by an exercise trainee alone.
If you are looking for professional grade care in combination with a caring and competent office staff, I'd highly advise seeking out another provider.
Ok, this is *extremely* overdue (sorry guys!!), but finally I'm here to tell you that Bodhizone is the best. Dr. Li is super nice and gentle and friendly and he'll... read more answer all your questions and help you with your aches and pains. Dr. Dalton helped my knee and back pain SO MUCH, like night and day. I have terrible posture, was out of shape and in a bunch of pain and he helped me get stronger and less achy and was super understanding and encouraging throughout. Dr. Deo is an absolute delight, the nicest in the world and also extremely talented and made me feel a lot better every time I saw her, too.
Even Eva at the front desk and Ty(sp?) are friendly and helpful and caring and this whole office is literally the best physical therapy experience I have had in NY (and I've gone to PT every year for the past 5).
Can't recommend them enough, go in the afternoon (but not when I go, don't take my spot) and you'll have a caring, dedicated team focused on helping you feel better as soon as possible.
I've been getting physical therapy here for about 3 months so far. The facility is clean and the staff are friendly. The physical therapists are knowledgeable and extremely thorough. Regardless... read more of the issue I'm having on the day of my appointment, they are eager to help me get to the bottom of the pain and help me to adjust my daily work activities, stretches, and workouts to find relief. I would highly recommend this facility and the doctors on staff.
I've been going to Bodhizone for a few weeks because of back pain and it's been a good experience so far. The staff are friendly and nice and they usually... read more take me on time. I've been working with Minali and she has helped me a great deal. She explains what the problem is and how the exercises and stretches help to heal my back. I'm grateful to be feeling much better.
I came across BodhiZone after having a microdiscectomy for my L5-S1. After 5 weeks of recovery, I was cleared to begin physical therapy. After check several recommendations from friends and... read more doctors, I felt like the luckiest man on earth to have found BodhiZone by searching ZocDoc. I visited their website and was impressed with their philosophy and one-stop shopping services. It only got better once I met the amazing people who have now been so instrumental in my recovery, both physically and mentally.
Stephanie, from reception, had a cheerful disposition since taking my first call. She answered all my questions and booked me right away. She and all the ladies are responsive, accommodating, and friendly.
Malani, my physical therapist, was extremely thorough and patient during my intake. I talked a lot after enduring so much and being worried about what the future held. She listened intently and was reassuring. Once we got into treatment, she made me realize quickly that the two other places I tried PT at in recent years didn't hold a candle to her. She had a plan, she had more skills, she was more in tune, and she communicated my needs to the team. Malani is the best, she's the "quarterback" of the team.
The other team member include, but are not limited to: Kevin/trainer, Karen/chiropractor, and Dr. Deo.
In contrast to other PT places where you meet with a tens unit for 15 minutes and your PT for 15 minutes. At BodhiZone, you get your full treatment with members of the team (including the tens unit). Melani keeps the team informed and updates them on my progress and desired regime for the day. Kevin is a phenomenal trainer. I expressed my goals from day one and emphasized I liked to challenged. Everyday he came in with new exercises that followed Malani's guidelines but challenged me at whatever phase of recovery I was at. Three months later, I feel Kevin has me in better shape than I've ever been in. His interest in my development and education is apparent.
Which holds true for the entire team. Their belief in their work and practices is clear. They aim to support you and educate you. They "set the stage" for your success, the "performance" is up to you (i.e. Following advice, implementing what you learn into your daily schedule regarding exercises and stretches, and maintaining healthier habits).

Staff is best all are knowledgeable and professional. They all genuinely care about their patients and very personable I can't thank them enough.

Dalton, Dr. Lee, Justin, Dr. Dao Thai and the rest of the Bodhizone team have been super helpful in rehabilitating ankles. Before coming in, I had a hard time walking... read more and was apprehensive towards any strenuous activity in which I could possibly hurt myself. With the bodhizone team and Dalton's instruction, I became way more comfortable with physical activity, changing my tentative perspective and then learned how to properly deal with injuries and how to avoid them happening.
I had never been to a chiropractor before and had a great experience here. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed working with Dr. Bui after I... read more threw my back out unexpectedly. He was very attentive and engaging, and made sure I was comfortable with all procedures and exercises. Highly recommend for any athletes or those who simply work out regularly and need a tune up!
I deeply regretted I went to Bodhizone at 23rd street for PT, chiropractor, pain management, Pilates, and acupuncture.
First of all, they run the business dishonestly. 2018 December, I exhausted... read more my chiropractor visit but Bodhizone told me they will work with my insurance company to get a few more sections so I went ahead booking chiropractor. On the day of visit, front desk told me I did not have chiropractor appointment. I was confused so I booked another one. I also asked specific time for doctors I will be seeing but front desk just assured me I will be seeing all three doctors. Again, on the day of visit, I was told I was not booked for chiropractor. I was screaming out "again" to the front desk so she said she doesn't know if chiropractor will have time to see me blah blah. Finally chiropractor Dr. Ly came to my room and gave me 10 minutes adjustment. It is my first time to see a chiropractor who only spent that little time with me and of course he did not evaluate me. I really needed chiropractor and if you don't want to see me for whatever reason, I can go somewhere else. I think it's to do with the insurance payment because after new year insurance restarts, Dr. Ly is so willing to see me all the time. However, he still spent very little time without fully evaluation. I went to chiropractor regularly in another place. I know how it supposed to be. After a few more trials, I told front desk not to book chiropractor. Ironically, Dr. Ly still show up in my room and I have to tell him I do not want chiropractor today. He and Bodhizone don't care about patients.
Dr. Dalton is my PT. He is overbooked. My insurance pays PT for close to $500 but he spent less than 30 minutes with me. A lot of time it's the assistant watching me exercise. December 2018, I injured my hamstring and my calf was really tight. Dr. Deo who gave me massages before PT said she will tell Dr. Dalton to give me some relief. Dr. Dalton came in first let me do some quad sets and then foam roller single leg deadlifts!!!! The next day my legs were swollen and hurt so much. I had to rest on the bed for two days. January 2019, my hamstring still bothered me so I went to orthopedic who told me I am supposed to rest, not exercise. So I told Dr. Dalton that my hamstring is injured and tight, hoping he could help me. He made me to do a stretch and said the fact that I was able to stretch like that means my hamstring is not tight. I felt tight because of weakness. I need to get stronger. I insisted my point and he then ordered some ice afterwards. What the f. Now it's April, I am still dealing with the hamstring injury with my new PT. I am very flexible and Everyone is different. He apparently doesn't know it as a physical therapist. He could spend a little time palpitating my hamstring but he did not, because he started treating another patient already (after short time with me)on the second floor gym. I went there once a week for almost three months and I can't still walk well. Dr. Dalton never re-evaluated me. PT should evaluate patients periodically. I had to ask him to see me walk and stand. He can find nothing because he has no clue. Plus he doesn't even believe what I said about my hamstring. My new PT said my left hamstring is so badly injured and my abductor is tight. Both are pulling my lower back and buttock, causing imbalance of my whole body. I have been with my new PT for two and half weeks now and I can walk much better.
Dr. Deo, the physician there, who usually massages my back before PT. I told her my calf is really tight and also inner side of my knee, then she figured out I injured my hamstring. I asked her what I can do. She said "nothing" and she will talk to PT to give me some relief and walked out. I believed in them because they are professional or supposed to be. Wrong! What I should do is RICE if injury is current and rest. And how about orthopedic evaluation and MRI. How about ART therapy or stretch after pain subsides. She is absolutely incompetent.
My current physical therapist is an one on one manual therapist and works an hour on me for the same $500 insurance payment. Bodhizone ripped me off.
The way Bodhizone runs business is dangerous for patients. They have no ability to solve complicated issues as opposed to they claimed on the website and have no desires to help their patients regain health. I would give negative star if I could.
I tried Pilates once and acupuncture a couple times. Horrible experiences.
Avoid Bodhizone.
For the first time I love going to physical therapy, thanks to the awesome staff at Bodhi Zone! Manali, Goldie and all of the therapists have been so helpful, friendly... read more and great with answering all my questions whenever I go. Stephanie at the front desk is so friendly and great at helping navigate the confusion of insurance. The exercises I've done at Bodhi Zone have helped me to come back from a bad IT band issue after the NYC Marathon. As a running coach and active person, there's nothing more frustrating than not being able to run. Manali and her staff gave me exercises to help me stay active and build up to running again, as well as suggested other fitness activities that could be beneficial and keep me moving.
I never have to wait when I go in, and don't feel rushed like at some PT places. Everyone is very personable and friendly, making it a fun experience. There's plenty of privacy and modern equipment to help with the recovery process. The floor with the workout zone is well-equipped and the exercises they've given me have really helped build up my strength. I'm so happy I found this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great results and an awesome staff.
I booked an appointment with Dr Sheetal Deo at this practice. The appointment was set for 1pm on Thursday, and at 6:30pm on Wednesday, I get an email from ZocDoc... read more saying the office cancelled it. They didn't even provide a reason, nor did they call me to explain what happened. It's pretty rude to just cancel a patient's appointment (especially with less than 24 hours notice) without even notifying them of why and not trying to reschedule it. Very unprofessional behavior and, needless to say, I won't be rebooking the appointment. There are plenty of better and more professional doctors in this city. My advice: avoid!
I came to Bodhizone 6 months ago right after surgery for rotator cuff tears and now I am near completing full recovery of range of motion and strength. The staff... read more are not only expert at their profession--at every level from sec'y to physical therapist--but they are patient, hospitable, genuinely concerned and dedicated to the client's total welfare and comfort. I travel from the upper west side 3 times a week and the trip is so worth it.
Bodhizone has helped me tremendously! Dave and the team are so knowledgeable and they all work together to help as much as possible. They all have the patient's best interest... read more in mind and always bring a positive energy to every session. I am a Physical Therapist myself and would highly recommend Bodhizone to anyone who is rehabbing an injury or dealing with chronic or acute pain. They offer Physical Therapy, Chiropractic care, acupuncture, and personal training. All of their professionals are well trained and extremely knowledgable. In addition, the wait time is minimal as they are very respectful of your time.
Started physical therapy for a foot stress fracture with the trainer's at Bodhizone and felt all the anxiety melt away after the first session. The staff is incredibly easy going... read more and the fact that they remember each clients name as the walk through the door is beyond impressive, most appreciated! Looking forward to participating in the other services provided. Would highly recommend to anyone skittish about physical therapy to call Bodhizone, they have a way of guiding you into the exercises and before you leave you have a sense of accomplishment.
Best PT I Have been to for a dancer/cycling instructor! I broke my elbow and I am very stubborn dealing with slower PT appointments. They had me work hard and... read more they worked hard on me as well! The staff really knows what they are doing and what injury they are dealing with! Also they dig deep into the injury if there is pain & I have seen the results. Thanks so much!
The physical therapists were very nice, but they pressured me into receiving chiropractic services as well, even though I did not want this. The chiropractor definitely caused me new injuries!... read more I went in with shoulder and elbow pain and came out with a new neck injury. Do yourself a favor and stay away!
This office was wonderful at first. Reception staff was helpful when making an appointment and super polite when I arrived at the office. The therapists that I saw Dr. Shapiro... read more and Dr. Handler and Dr. Deo were amazing I felt better after my first visit. Then the letters from the insurance company started coming showing that I was there for visits that I wasn't. When I called to question this Connie I believe in billing gave me some run around BS answer about why it happened. Insurance fraud is why it happened these people are just out for money don't ever go there!
The best place to get well! Professional and very helpful. Bodhizone knows what you need and they are wonderful!
Best PT place in town. Excellent professionals, attentive, sensitive to your issues, plus sports oriented, so if you want to get back into your favorite activity, this is the place.... read more Been going for almost 15 years.
When I was laying in the Emergency Room, awaiting the verdict on my broken leg, I was looking for something to help me sustain a positive attitude. The first thing that came to mind was: “at least I will be able to go to Fifth Avenue for my physical rehabilitation.
Fifth Avenue Physical Therapy has been a wonderful experience for me. My therapist recommended exercises that quickly started to positively affect my pain. His empathy and assessment of my pain helped me to gain confidence from the outset that I had made the right choice.
My therapist was very enthusiastic and had a positive influence on my improvement. The technicians/aides were very courteous, helpful and friendly. The receptionists were very helpful and professional when it was necessary to reschedule my appointments. Excellent service, very clean facility, friendly, helpful, responsible and courteous staff. I felt at home.
I suffered from cervical radiculopathy for two years and went to many physical therapy clinics before I found Fifth Avenue. The staff therapists were so knowledgeable and within 5 treatments my arm was not tingling and my entire neck felt more flexible. My humble thanks to all, at this wonderful facility.
